March - Began to play pick-up games against local ex-college, Mexican, and other highly skilled players

April - Tried out and and made roster of local U-14 Division II Challenge team after only nine recreational games

June - Recovered completely from simultaneous right knee and ankle dislocation in 12 days - selected by United Soccer Academy for International Summer Program (age 13)

February - Finished out high school Junior Varsity season (9th Grade)

May - Placed 2nd in State Championships - finished season with 5 goals and 23 assists as a forward (U-16 Rec)

June - Invited to play for Rec All-Stars - placed 3rd in Mississippi State Games (U-16)

June - Selected by Eurotech for International Soccer Camp in England - only player in Mississippi selected (camp cancelled due to Iraq War and SARS concerns)

July - Attended Advanced Summer Camp at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)

July - Continued evening pick-up games

July - Selected for U-18 Gulf Coast United Select team by new Gulf Coast Soccer Academy - Center Midfielder

August - Revolution Labor Day Classic Tournament (August 30-31) in Pensacola, FL - Gulf Coast United took First Place after only three weeks of practice (3-1 / 4-0 / 2-0 / 2-1)

September - Participated in Regional Superclubs Tournament in Memphis, TN - tied for first place in U18-U19 Division District - lost chance for semifinals on goal differential

October - Move to Forward - one assist in first field appearance against Louisiana State Champions Lafrenier

November - TOP GUN Tournament in Pensacola, FL, November 1st & 2nd - one goal as midfielder - Fall season ends with team record of 9-1-4 - Rory suffers severe left ankle sprain and avulsion fracture in final TOP GUN game - returns to pitch one week following injury

November - High School soccer season starts - Rory starter at Center Midfielder

December - Pascagoula High team stands 4-1 overall and 2-0 in District play - Rory plays most of all five games with growing pain from injury

December 22 - Rory has arthroscopic surgery to the left ankle to remove tissue generated from severe sprain - anticipated to return in 2-3 weeks

December 30 - Post-op followup - surgery successful

December 31 - Rory returns to the field nine days after surgery



2004

January 3 - Rory plays two games in Long Beach tournament twelve days after surgery - scores one goal - Pascagoula High wins both games, 6-2 and 12-0 - PHS is 7-1 for the season to date

January 9 - Rory plays in third District game - PHS defeats Ocean Springs (ranked #13 in the state) for the second time, 3-1 - PHS is now 8-1 overall and 3-0 in District

January 13 - PHS defeats Long Beach 3-0 - PHS now 9-1 - PHS is now ranked #9 in Mississippi

January 16 - PHS beats Mercy Cross 5-0 - Rory scores first goal of game for PHS - PHS is 10-1 overall

January 20 - PHS defeats St. Martin 6-0 - PHS 4-0 in District play - 11-1 overall - ranked #9 in state

January 23 - PHS over Resurrection 6-0 - Rory scores 3rd goal of season - PHS 12-1 overall at end of regular season - PHS scores 60 goals with only 9 goals against

January 27 - PHS overwhelms Vicksburg (7-7-3) by score of 8-0 for first post-season victory - next game against Gulfport 01/31

January 31 - PHS denies Gulfport 3-1 to win Southern District and advance to State Finals to play West Jones February 3rd - PHS is 14-1 for the season

February 3 - PHS hangs on 2-1 in overtime to take South State over Oak Grove in a well-matched game. PHS now advances to play for the Mississippi State Championship February 7 in Pearl.

February 14 - After rain-delayed schedule and on a muddy, tiny field Pascagoula loses 4-0 against Tupelo

February 18 - Start of Gulf Coast United Spring soccer practice
