I will no longer entertain requests to allow the use of the graphics
used on the 37th Texas web site. All of the graphics
on the site are copyrighted to me (1996-1999), with the exception of the
waving flags and graphics which appear on the"Awards" and "Rings"
pages which are specifically the property of the awarders and ring masters
and which do not appear elsewhere on the 37th's site.
The reason for this change is the third instance of people using the
graphics from this site without asking permission. This last case, was the
final straw, since this party also chose to include my copyrighted graphics
on his "My Free Graphics" page.
In the past, I have had several web sites removed from their ISPs because
they violated my copyrights and then refused to remove the graphics from
their pages/sites. One person changed the names of the graphics and claimed
his own copyright.
I can no longer leave any doubt that the graphics work on the 37th's
site is protected by copyright law and that their use by anyone other than
the 37th will be considered a violation of copyright and will be strongly
pursued.
However, I have created select graphics which I am making available in
the public domain. More will be added as I have time to spare. I ask only
that you provide a small credit line and a link to the 37th Texas web site.
If you use midi files from the 37th's web site, please credit the fine
folks who have created the unique arrangements of traditional tunes.
Your Obedient Servant,
Michael Kelley, Colonel
Commanding, 37th Texas Cavalry (Terrell's)
