A Call To Arms
We have voluntarily removed the History Channel© recommendation of our site and our link to the History Channel© website to show our disgust at "The Unfinished War" which portrayed all reenactors of the War for Southern Independence to be borderline mental cases and Confederate reenactors to be reactionary racists.

The 37th Texas Cavalry Welcomes You...
to the Most Honored Site of the War For Southern Independence

With more than 100 pages and 2000+ visitors per month this site remains the largest, most visited War for Southern Independence reenactor web site. Receipt of 117 Web Awards for content, contribution to the Internet community, design, and ease of use also makes our site the most honored site about the War for Southern Independence on the Internet.

We are a gathering of historians, professional and amateur, of many racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds who have committed ourselves to a mission of historical research and documentation of the Forgotten Confederates. Our site serves not only the 37th as a reenactment unit, but also serves as the only focal point for research and documentation of Confederates of all races, ethnic origins and religions.

Please note that we do not editorialize or comment on the carefully researched and referenced documentation we offer for your consideration. This reflects our belief that history speaks best for itself when the reader is left to reach a personal conclusion after careful reflection. We respect your right and ability to consider what we offer.

Members of the 37th are hard core reenctors, educators at the secondary and college levels, professional historians and authors. Our Trooper John O'Donnell-Rosales has published his landmark book, "Hispanic Confederates" recently and it is now selling out its second printing.

Using our site

Music on each page is controlled by means of a dropdown menu activated by clicking on the small gray box with the musical note to the right of each page title.

While you are visiting with us, please make use of our new, more powerful "Search Our Site" function present on every mainstream page to search the pages of the 37th Texas' site. It searches only our site and is automatically updated every Monday. It will return results guiding you to specific pages on our site. You have other other options available from that search page.

On each main page you will find a major "Directory" at the bottom of the page. If you click on a page name you will be taken to that page whether it is a stand-alone main page or the first page in a category: for instance, "Historic References" is currently a 19-page category. While you are within a category there is a smaller secondary directory on each page to allow access to any page in that category at random, or you may use the main Directory and exit the category to go to another main page.

On our 37th Texas title page (index page), you can use the auto-notification function to ensure that you are notified by Email of any changes to our site. If you visit our "Incoming Mail" page you can post messages to us and the visitors to our site.

Let us once again invite you to click on "Please continue..." below and advance on your journey through history with the members of the 37th Texas Cavalry...
